The Brookings-Harbor Education Association (BHEA) releases the following statement:
Each year, the Brookings-Harbor Education Association chooses 3 recipients for scholarships to further our students’ educational goals. The task of choosing those 3 students goes to former teachers, Education Support Professionals (ESP's), bus drivers and others that have helped support kids in their years at Brookings-Harbor schools. Never before has that task been more difficult and given more careful consideration, than this year’s selection. The BHEA scholarship team received 9 candidates this year, and we agreed we wanted to help them all. We knew that this would be a difficult selection, as we’ve watched these students grow through their years at Brookings-Harbor School District 17-C, and their work has not gone unnoticed. All candidates have maintained a high academic profile and volunteered generously in our community. It was our honor, as the scholarship committee, to consider the information on each of these entrants and narrow it down to 3. We congratulate all the candidates and extend our heartfelt wishes for your future endeavors. And we congratulate the 3 recipients of the BHEA Scholarship of Excellence to Sienna Worthey, Buell Gonzales, and Patrick Fulton, and present them each with a $1000 contribution toward their future educational goals.
